Maintenance Supervisor – Mining
Morton Salt is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor at our Fairport, OH Mine facility. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe workplace by promoting safe work practices. Provides maintenance supervision and directs maintenance/repair activities associated with the underground mining operation in accordance with overall business objectives and strategies.
Responsibilities:
* Lead by example and promote safety as a value and ensure compliance of company safety rules and state/federal regulations.
* Utilize manpower and materials safely and efficiently to inspect, repair and troubleshoot equipment problems.
* Develop a motivated team to ensure equipment/facilities are maintained in proper working order and maintained to high standards of reliability.
* Maintain repair logs, takes call out reports and orders parts/materials for repair and maintenance of equipment.
* Interface with shift foremen regarding status of maintenance work. Partner with all stakeholders and ensure effective and efficient maintenance planning and scheduling are provided.
* Establish accountability and develop the skills of maintenance employees through a combination of goal setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance evaluations.
* Ensure all necessary federal inspection/compliance paperwork is completed in accordance with regulations.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree or completion of apprenticeship program strongly preferred.
* A minimum of five years of progressive maintenance experience in mine operations and/or engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Eligible to be certified by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources – Division of Mineral Resources Management.
* Working knowledge of underground mining/maintenance methods, operations and procedures.
* Strong technical and working knowledge of maintenance principles and diagnostics in areas of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, diesel and rotating equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees and work collaboratively with other departments.
* Sense of accountability and an ability/desire to teach and hold others accountable.
* Ability to prioritize and utilize management resources to effectively assign and implement action plans for achieving objectives.
* Basic computer skills including e-mail and word processing.
