We are looking for an Accounting Manager at the Alcoa Architectural Products Manufacturing facility in Eastman, Georgia. Th positions will report to the Controller.
Key responsibilities include:
• Ensure general ledger and financial statements are complete and accurate
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing functions.
• Manage month end and year end accounting closing processes, Ensures month end deadlines are met. Ensures financial statements are accurately stated before closing the accounting period.
• Ensure completion of Alcoa’s Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls (ASAT).
• Ensure compliance with Alcoa and business unit financial reporting requirements.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
• Monitor and ensure the accuracy of the ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle)• Monitor and maintain the standard cost process, analyze significant variances for root cause
• Prepare journal entries, amortization of prepaid expenses and accrual of expenses
• Manage fixed assets (projects capitalizations, CWIP follow-up, disposals, depreciation and amortization, etc)
• Assist controller with gathering data and preparing reports for key personnel.
• Assist management team in Forecasting, planning and analyzing business results
• Assist with analysis and reporting from corporate productivity tracker
Manage the accounting procedures and documentation
• Manage department employees
Basic Qualifications • BS Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with 5-7 years in progressively demanding and responsible accounting / finance positions
• Microsoft Office Applications with expert level skills in Excel.
• Internal Control/audit -experience
• Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
• Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
