Internal Auditor / Senior Internal Auditor
Job Summary: Completes and/or assists with completion of internal audit reviews of Corporate financial, operational and technical internal controls and operating processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program involving documenting, testing and evaluating internal controls
* Assists with periodic risk assessments
* Performs various audit tests and procedures
* Assists with the planning and execution of financial and operational audits
* Develops proficiency in the use of automated audit management software
* Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers
* Creates summary reports for key Alpha personnel that adequately present findings and recommendations identified during the audit/consulting engagement
* Conducts all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Job Requirements:
Position Prerequisites/Preferences/Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
* One to three years’ audit experience desired
* Knowledge of application of internal audit and accounting principles and practices
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
* Excellent interpersonal skills (particularly listening and observing), communication (both verbal and written) and presentational skills
* Ability to use discretion when handling or involved with confidential information.
* Ability to establish and maintain team-oriented working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and external contacts, and work effectively in a professional team environment
* Ability to work independently and prioritize work to meet applicable deadlines
* Travel up to 30% of the time and able to lift and carry equipment, supplies and bags weighing over 25 pounds each
