Supervisor, Human Resources
The Galore Creek Mining Corporation (GCMC) is a 50/50 joint venture partnership between Teck Resources Limited and NovaGold Resources Inc. established to explore and develop the Galore Creek copper-gold-silver deposit located in the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation in North Western British Columbia.
We are currently seeking an individual in the role of:
Supervisor, Human Resources
Responsible for the development and implementation of all HR related activities including the administration of HR programs and practices related to compensation and benefits, orientation, training and development, performance management, health and safety and recruitment and selection. This position will be based in the office located in Vancouver, BC.
Responsibilities:
* Maximize opportunities to engage leaders and employees through the implementation of HR strategies, policies, programs and initiatives.
* Advise managers and employees on HR programs, salary administration practices, policies and procedures, service changes, employment legislation, First Nations employment targets and advancement, and day-to-day HR matters.
* Oversee and administer various HR functions, including recruitment and selection, orientation, relocation, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and exit processes.
* Forecast HR related expenditures and manage the budget and ongoing allocation of resources.
* Contribute to the implementation of the Tahltan Nation HR Committee mandate.
Qualifications:
* University Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or other applicable field
* Professional HR designation would be an asset
* Five years of human resources experience, including experience with compensation and benefits administration
* Previous work experience with mining operations would be an asset
* Computer literacy in PC applications, especially MS Excel, Word and Outlook
* Superb organizational skills and unquestioned confidential and discretionary work practices
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization
* Ability to work under minimal supervision in a demanding environment, work in a team environment and facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort
* Self-starting team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities, maturity and tact
