Mining Engineers
First Quantum Minerals is a growing International mining and metals company engaged in mineral exploration, development and mining, with a portfolio of successful projects, and is fast evolving into a globally diversified metals organisation. FQM Australia Nickel Pty Ltd now operates the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation (RNO), situated approximately 550 kilometers south east of Perth, Western Australia and is seeking to recruit experienced Mining Engineers.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer you will play a crucial role in the detailed analysis and evaluation of mine development including assessment of operational options and the preparation of mine schedules and budgets, determination of site infrastructure and equipment selection requirements.
Once in a steady state of operation, you will involved in the ongoing optimisation of the pit resources, designs and plans, mine equipment, capital expenditure, waste and water management to ensure the best utilisation of the Resource.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
* Tertiary Qualifications in Mine Engineering with 3+ years post-graduate experience
* Previous long-term mine planning experience
* Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of strategic planning
* Strong PC skills and computer literacy including experience with a range of global mine planning (GMP) mine planning packages
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* A proven history in delivering results in scheduling and budgeting
This position can be FIFO or based in Ravensthorpe in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia. With a small close-knit community Ravensthorpe/ Hopetoun are prosperous towns with modern amenities.
