Company

This leading and highly established organisation produces pulverised, injected and thermal coal.  The coal is produced then exported to steelmakers, power generators and general industry in Asia, Europe and America.

They therefore have superior technical and logistical knowledge in relation to effective resourcing and processing within the coal mining industry.

They have an outstanding reputation in relation to their safety, performance and culture within the organisation and are now looking for a Senior Maintenance Supervisor to join their team
.

Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent the role of the Senior Maintenance Supervisor is to ensure all works conducted within the Maintenance Department are supervised appropriately and completed in a safe and efficient manner, taking into account the mines Safety & Health Management System, legislative requirements, internal policies and procedures and industry best practice guidelines.

Responsibilities;

• Oversee the planning, organising and supervision of all maintenance activities to ensure departmental objectives are met.
• Implement the maintenance plan and drive employees to comply with expectations.
• Monitor rosters for employees within the department and approve hours worked / time sheets.
• Follow up on work generated from services and inspections to ensure parts are ordered and the impending works are input into the maintenance plan.
• Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner and Superintendent to produce detailed plans for major shutdown work.
• Contribute to the 3 monthly plan as directed by Maintenance Superintendent.
• Identify and implement cost efficiency initiatives where possible.
• Assist Maintenance Superintendent in the construction of maintenance budget/s.

Skills and experience;

• Experience in supervising a team at a senior level
• Apply Risk Management Processes.
• Conduct Safety & Health Investigations.
• Communicate Information.
• Implement & Maintain Risk Management Processes.
• Applicable Coal Competencies.
• Senior First Aid Certificate or Higher.
• Generic Surface Induction.
• QLD Coal Board Medical.

In return for your input and energy you will be rewarded with a base salary between $170,000 plus superannuation, accommodation and vehicle.
